Chetan Hansraj to play Brahmarakshas in Zee TV’s Brahmarakshas 2

After presenting three interesting fiction properties in the festive month of October and captivating its audience with stories that capture the pulse of the Indian middle class, Zee TV now takes its audience on a trip of fantasy. The channel very recently launched the second season of its immensely successful and intriguing weekend thriller, Brahmarakshas. Produced by Balaji Telefilms, the show premiered its first episode on 22nd November with television actress Nikki Sharma essaying the lead character of Kalindi opposite popular actor Pearl V. Puri playing the role of Angad. Having made quite an intriguing start, the show is all set to make an exciting and captivating revelation on this Sunday.

While the initial episodes have introduced viewers to its leading lady Kalindi’s battle against an evil force that seems to be lurking around her, there has been much speculation around the true identity and the human form that this Brahmarakshas will assume. In an exciting turn of events, viewers will find out in the latest episode of the show that the Brahmarakshas is none other than the character Vardhan Chaudhry played by the multi-talented television superstar Chetan Hansraj.

Out of the many negative characters essayed by Chetan, this role seems to be one of his most challenging yet exciting characters to portray. Talking about his love for this genre and what intrigued him to take up this character, Chetan said "The genre of supernatural shows itself has always been my favourite. When I first heard the story, I was instantly hooked, and I felt it had the perfect mix of thrill and drama that are required to complete a show of this kind. This is the best werewolf story we could have right now on Indian television. I am really looking forward to portraying this character because it is something very different from what I have essayed earlier and it brings its own set of challenges. Moreover, I am returning to Zee TV after nearly four to five years and I am glad to be a part of the family once again”.

The actor’s character has a rather ferocious avatar which takes Chetan nearly four hours to step in and out of the look. Talking about his look, Chetan said. “It takes minimum 4 hours and a team of four to five exceptionally skilled people to set the heavy prosthetics on my face. Shooting in the costume, that includes performing various action sequences comes as a big challenge by itself but none of this takes away from the interest and fascination that I have for this role. “While it might be quite a tough process, transforming from Vardhan into Brahmarakshas and back into Vardhan is actually the most exciting part of this character.”

अक्टूबर के फेस्टिव महीने में तीन नए दिलचस्प फिक्शन शोज़ प्रस्तुत करने के बाद अब ज़ी टीवी अपने बेहद सफल और रोमांचक शो ‘ब्रह्मराक्षस’ के दूसरे दिलचस्प सीजन के साथ दर्शकों को एक काल्पनिक दुनिया में ले जा रहा है। बालाजी टेलीफिल्म्स के निर्माण में बने इस शो के पहले एपिसोड का प्रसारण गत रविवार 22 नवंबर को हुआ, जिसमें पॉपुलर टेलीविजन एक्ट्रेस निक्की शर्मा कालिंदी के किरदार में, पर्ल वी. पुरी के अपोजिट नजर आईं, जो अंगद का रोल निभा रहे हैं। जहां निक्की शर्मा, बालाजी के साथ पहली बार काम कर रही हैं, वहीं पर्ल का इस प्रोडक्शन हाउस के साथ लंबे समय का नाता रहा है। ब्रह्मराक्षस 2 बालाजी के साथ पर्ल का तीसरा शो है। इस एक्टर का प्रोड्यूसर एकता कपूर के साथ भी बहुत अच्छा रिश्ता है, जो उन्हें बहुत पसंद करती हैं। असल में वो पर्ल को अपने फेवरेट एक्टर्स में से एक मानती हैं और उन्हें प्यार से ‘पर्ली’ कहकर बुलाती हैं।

एकता के साथ अपने तालमेल और खुद को दिए गए इस क्यूट निकनेम के बारे में बताते हुए पर्ल ने कहा, “एकता मैम बहुत स्वीट और बढ़िया दिल की इंसान हैं। मैं उन्हें काफी समय से जानता हूं और उनके साथ यह मेरा तीसरा शो है। उनके शोज़ करने के अलावा मैं उन्हें एक व्यक्ति के रूप में भी पसंद करता हूं। वे वाकई स्वीटहार्ट हैं और हमेशा ‘हां’ ही कहती हैं! उनके साथ काम करने की बात हो, तो मैं दोबारा नहीं सोचता और हमेशा तैयार रहता हूं। मुझे लगता है आपकी जिंदगी में कुछ ऐसे लोग होते हैं, जिन पर आप आंख मूंदकर भरोसा कर सकते हैं और अपनी जिंदगी की बहुत सारी चीजों का श्रेय उन्हें दे सकते हैं। मेरे लिए एकता मैम उन्हीं में से एक हैं। वे पद्मभूषण से सम्मानित हैं, टेलीविजन इंडस्ट्री की बड़ी हस्ती हैं, जो एक साथ 145 शोज़, वेबसीरीज़ और फिल्में संभाल रही हैं  लेकिन इसके बावजूद वे इतनी विनम्र और नेकदिल हैं। मैं उनका शुक्रगुजार हूं कि उन्होंने मुझे पसंद किया और मुझे ये नाम (पर्ली) दिया। आज बहुत-से लोग मुझे पर्ली कहकर ही बुलाते हैं। मुझे भी यह नाम बहुत अच्छा लगता है (मुस्कुराते हुए)!”

इस शो के बारे में बताते हुए एकता कपूर ने कहा, “मैं ब्रह्मराक्षस के दूसरे सीजन को लेकर वाकई बहुत उत्साहित हूं। इसमें स्पेशल इफेक्ट्स हैं, बढ़िया कहानी है, यह बड़ा शो है और इसमें बहुत-सा ड्रामा है। यह भारतीय दर्शकों के लिए एक परफेक्ट शो है। मैं उम्मीद करती हूं कि दर्शक इसे पिछली बार जितना ही पसंद करेंगे। इस शो में मेरे फेवरेट एक्टर पर्ली भी हैं। मैं अपने पसंदीदा विषय पर ज़ी टीवी के साथ काम करने को लेकर भी काफी उत्साहित हूं। मैं यह देखने के लिए भी उत्सुक हूं कि इस बार ब्रह्मराक्षस किस तरह आगे बढ़ता है!” 

जहां एकता और पर्ल एक बार फिर साथ मिलकर अपना जादू जगा रहे हैं, वहीं ब्रह्मराक्षस 2 में कालिंदी नाम की एक साधारण लड़की का सफर दिखाया जा रहा है, जिसकी किस्मत शैतानी ताकतों में उलझ जाती है। फिर उसके भाग्य में एक ऐसा मोड़ आता है, जहां वो शैतान ब्रह्मराक्षस का मुकाबला करने के लिए अपने अंदर की ताकत जुटाती है। अंबाला की पृष्ठभूमि पर आधारित इस शो में कालिंदी शैतानी दुनिया से गुजरते करते हुए अपनी सीधी- सादी जिंदगी के रास्ते पर चल रही है, वहीं अब उसे उन लोगों की रक्षा करने के लिए एक मुश्किल लड़ाई लड़नी होगी, जिनकी वो परवाह करती है! 

Crorepati Hattrick on KBC

Third week in a row, Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 12 has found its next crorepati in Anupa Das, a humble teacher who hails from Jagdalpur, Bastar in Chhatisgarh!

The 42-year-old, attempted all the questions in her way to becoming a crorepati with utmost confidence and humility. As Amitabh Bachchan announced "sahi jawaab" on the Rs 1 crore question, Anupa was not just smiling ear-to-ear, but also had tears of joy in her eyes. Pearl V.Puri credits his co-actors for helping him portray Angad in Brahmarakshas 2

After presenting three interesting fiction properties in the festive month of October and captivating its audience, Zee TV is all set to take the audience on a trip full of fantasy this November. The second season of its immensely successful and intriguing weekend thriller, Brahmarakshas is all set to launch. Produced by Balaji Telefilms, the show will feature television actress Nikki Sharma alongside Pearl V. Puri and while resuming work post the lockdown might have been difficult for most actors, the cast and the crew of Brahmarakshas 2 have been rigorously working round the clock as the show gears closer to its on-air date.

In fact, Nikki Sharma and the other cast members of the show have been shooting regularly for a month now, however, Pearl just recently resumed shooting for Brahmarakshas 2. He is now working extended hours to make up for the long break that he took to heal after a personal loss. Returning to and focusing on work while going through an emotionally challenging time is not an ideal situation one finds him/ her self in , but Pearl is thankful to have the support of his entire cast and crew who have been nothing but pillars of strength and encouragement for him.

Opening up about the challenges he is facing while playing the character of Angad, Pearl V. Puri shared “Angad is a very peppy and flamboyant lad who believes in living life carefree and to the fullest. Currently portraying this trait of his seems like an emotional challenge but I have been extremely persistent to get this character right and I have been trying to keep my mind focussed towards my work. At times, I put myself in Angad’s shoes to try thinking like him instead of myself. No doubt it has been difficult but as an actor, overcoming this challenge and being immensely praised for my performance would be my biggest achievement.”

Adding further, Pearl mentioned, “My mom has been my biggest emotional support during this period and my co-actors have also been immensely supportive, which has indeed helped me stay afloat. Nikki has been really understanding and even working with Ashish who has been a father figure to me, on-screen and offscreen has been a great source of encouragement.  I am incredibly humbled and thankful for all the support I’ve received, and I hope I bring back the same excitement for my fans with Brahmarakshas 2.”

While Pearl V. Puri returns to shoot with a determined spirit,  Brahmarakshas 2 is set to depict the journey of an ordinary young girl - Kalindi, whose destiny gets entwined with an evil force and a drastic twist of fate has her drawing all her inner strength to combat the wicked Brahmarakshas. Set against the backdrop of Ambala, she navigates and manoeuvres her way through the world of evil and her own ordinary life. Kalindi finds herself fighting a tough battle to protect the people she truly cares for!

The first season of India’s Best Dancer finds its winner in Tiger Pop, from Gurugram

Sony Entertainment Television's yet another successful homegrown format and popular dance reality show India's Best Dancer found its winner in Tiger Pop (Ajay Singh), who hails from Gurugram, and is known for his popping. On Sunday night as the Grand Finale of the show culminated, in a nail biting moment, from amongst the 5 best finalists, Tiger Pop was announced as India’s Best Dancer. India voted wholeheartedly for their favorite finalists and the total votes clocked in for the finale of the very first season of the show were 3 crore 28 lacs. Tiger Pop was awarded the trophy and a cheque of Rs 15 lakh from Sony Entertainment Television by Mr. Danish Khan, Business Head – Sony Entertainment Television, Digital Business & StudioNEXT. Tiger Pop was also awarded a Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza from Maruti Suzuki India Limited. Tiger’s choreographer Vartika Jha received a cheque of Rs 5 lakh.

The competition between the top 5 contestants – Tiger Pop, Mukul Gain, Shweta Warrier, Paramdeep Singh and Shubranil Paul was neck-to-neck as they all excelled in different dance forms. But the audience finally chose Tiger Pop as the ultimate winner. Mukul Gain and Shweta Warrier secured second and third spots respectively. The grand finale was no less than a huge celebration with non-stop entertainment, dance and fun banter. The show was graced by Dharmesh Yelande, Raghav Juyal, Pooja Sawant; the cast of SonyLIV’s upcoming series ‘A Simple Murder’ – Sushant Singh, Priya Anand and Amit Sial; and the cast of ‘Story 9 months Ki’ – Sukirti Kandpal and Aashay Mishra. Malaika Arora and Terence Lewis’s breathtaking performances were a visual treat. Krushna Abhishek in his inimitable way infused the evening with fun and laughter.

Tiger Pop, ecstatic about winning the title of India’s Best Dancer, said, “I am beyond happy to have won the coveted title of India’s Best Dancer. I cannot believe that my childhood dream of being on a platform like India’s Best Dancer and winning it, has come true today. The whole journey of being on India’s Best Dancer, right from my very first audition, to my first battle, to being paired with a choreographer like Vartika Jha, to performing & learning something new week on week has been surreal. Standing here on this stage made me realize that adulation cannot be taken for granted. You have to work hard to earn in. I am thankful to all the judges for keeping us grounded and being an inspiration to all of us. I am grateful and overwhelmed for all the love that I have received from all over the world.”

On Tiger Pop’s win, Malaika Arora said, “I am very very happy that Tiger Pop is our first season’s winner. Tiger is brilliant at what he does, and I think the audience have given their verdict on the same. They love him, and he truly deserves the success he has achieved today.”  Terence Lewis added, “Tiger Pop began his journey with the song Bekhayali and ended it with Ishaqzaade. His journey has been amazing. From being his mother’s favorite, today, he has become India’s favorite. His style, his grace and his performance touched our hearts, and I am extremely happy for him and his parents. Tiger managed to fulfill his mother’s dream and deep down somewhere I can relate to him. I wish him all the best for his journey ahead”.

India’s Best Dancer began its journey with the top 12 outstanding performers from across the country, and gave a platform to talent who deserved to be recognized, thereby inspiring many other aspirants.
