"It's sad to see people trying to misuse #metoo" said Rohit Verma who was accused of sexual assault by Model Saahil Choudhary.

"Disgusted to see people trying to destroy my reputation by putting baseless accusations on me. #Metoo campaign is for women & men to come forward & share their issues they have dealt with, it is not for publicity . MeToo campaign must not be used to levelled false allegations against innocents" adds Rohit Verma.

Agitated with Model Saahil Choudhary's accusations, Designer Rohit Verma proclaimed " For every #MeToo, there’s a “#YouToo.” Or, in some cases, “#YouToo?. There are people coming under scrutiny for someone else's selfish purpose. If India is angry on #Metoo then there should be another movement #youtoo?"

Varun Dhawan Reveals that Hrithik Roshan is One of His Acting Inspiration

Varun Dhawan along with Anushka Sharma reveal their inspiration and more on IMDb “The Insider Watchlist”

Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sui Dhaaga is the story of married couple Mauji and Mamta who reclaim the family sowing business. Recently, in a sit down chat with film critic Anupama Chopra on IMDb “The Insider’s Watchlist”, Dhawan revealed that actor Hrithik Roshan has inspired him and many actors in the Indian film industry. On the show Varun said, “The first time I saw Hrithik Roshan on screen, I was deeply affected. I am swayed away with his performance in intense scenes. Though, Shah Rukh Khan is the best dramatic actor in the country and you see a lot of new actors imitate him but Hrithik has his own voice, and anybody who says that his performance doesn’t leave an impact on them, they are lying.”

Anushka Sharma said she was highly inspired by Kangana Ranaut in the movie Queen.

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) and Tata Sky have over the years developed an excellent working relationship. It is therefore unfortunate that Tata Sky has unilaterally chosen to drop 22 SPN channels from its subscription, even though SPN has not increased the rate of its channels. 

SPN channels are leaders in their genres and the network one of the most popular in the country. By unilaterally dropping the channels, Tata Sky is depriving its viewers of the opportunity to watch world class entertainment and live sporting action. Further, by compelling existing subscribers to give separate “missed” calls even to continue watching the SPN channels they have already paid for, Tata Sky is not acting in consumer interest. 

We would like to reassure Tata Sky subscribers that the SPN channels are available under the TRAI mandated Reference Interconnect Offer (RIO). All they have to do is call Tata Sky and demand that the channels be provided to them

Siddharth Roy Kapur to bring the amazing journey of India’s “Ballet Boys” to the screen

The incredible and inspiring journey of two boys from the slums of Mumbai to the world of international ballet, will be written and directed by Sooni Taraporevala 

Siddharth Roy Kapur’s Roy Kapur Films (RKF) has signed on acclaimed filmmaker Sooni Taraporevala to bring to the screen the inspiring and hopeful journey of the two Mumbai boys, Amiruddin Shah and Manish Chauhan, their Israeli-American mentor Yehuda Maor and their families, who triumphed over their circumstances and achieved a feat no Indian ever has before - by making their way to prestigious global ballet institutes like London’s Royal Ballet Academy and the Oregon Ballet Theatre. 

Sooni, known for her award-winning writing on Salaam Bombay, Mississippi Masala and The Namesake, has previously directed a VR documentary on the same subject titled “Yeh Ballet”, for Anand Gandhi’s Memesys Lab.

When Siddharth read about the boys and saw this documentary, he was so moved by their story that he reached out to Sooni immediately and asks her to join him in telling it on the big screen. Siddharth and Sooni have worked together earlier on The Namesake, which was co-produced by UTV Motion Pictures, and had stayed in touch ever since to discuss potential ideas to collaborate on. 

Siddharth Roy Kapur said, “I am very excited about bringing this wonderful and inspiring story to the screen, and thrilled to have Sooni write and direct it. I have always admired her writing, and she has outdone herself with the superb script she has written on the “Ballet Boys”. Having been involved creating an enduring dance and musical franchise like ABCD, we intend to bring the same unbridled energy, cinematic spectacle, spectacular dance and great music to this film. What makes this film even more special is that we will explore an unfamiliar western dance form like ballet and its impact on these boys, while staying firmly rooted in our own culture and our more familiar dance aesthetic. I do believe this will resonate in a big way with both Indian and international audiences” 

Sooni Taraporevala expressed, “I have always admired Sid’s filmography and his drive to tell stories that matter. I hope this collaboration will successfully bring to light the incredible and emotionally driven journey of the boys and their teacher and the fact that talent has no boundaries. We just need to recognise it as sometimes it’s found in the most unlikely of places.”

These two strong creative forces are thrilled to bring the exciting dance form of Ballet to Indian movie audiences for the first time. Siddharth and Sooni both share a passion for the performing arts and are excited about commencing their shoot for this unique and vibrant film that will encompass various dance forms like free-style, desi hip-hop and ballet. With dialogues by Mayur Puri (writer of ABCD/ABCD2), music by the hit duo Sachin-Jigar, choreography by phenomenal Shiamak Davar and ballet sequences by Yehuda Maor and Cindy Jourdain, this is set to be a musical and visual treat for audiences. 

The film is currently in pre-production and will go on the floors in January 2019 and hit the screen later next year.

'Sultan' in China

Salman Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer Sultan, the homegrown story of an underdog that wins against all odds, broke box office records and won over audiences in India. Now the powerful wrestling drama is set to get a wide release across China on August 31, 2018. Yash Raj Films collaborates with leading distribution company E Stars China to screen Sultan in over 11,000 screens, targeting around 40,000 shows a day. The film will release with the same title, Sultan.

Produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Sultan’s story resonates universally. It will get a Chinese subtitled release. Speaking about the wide China release, director Ali Abbas Zafar says, "Every time a film releases and newer set of audiences see it, you get a different perspective altogether. China is a fast growing market for Indian Cinema. I'm really excited and looking forward to people's reaction to Sultan in China."

कॉस्मेटिक सर्जरी श्रीदेवी की मौत का एकमात्र कारण नहीं : डॉ मोनिका कपूर

ह्रदय के दौरे के कारण श्रीदेवी की असामयिक मृत्यु ने सभी सदमे में है। यह ५४ वर्षीय अभिनेत्री  एक पारिवारिक शादी का हिस्सा बनने के लिए दुबई गए थे। अप्रत्याशित मौत के बारे में व्यापक अटकलें है। कई विशेषज्ञों और डॉक्टरों ने उन कई कॉस्मेटिक सर्जरी को उनकी मौत का ज़िम्मेदार ठहराया है, जो उन्होंने अपने जीवनकाल में करवायी थी। 

उनकी कॉस्मेटिक सर्जरी और टॉक्सिस डोसेस को श्रीदेवी के ह्रदय दौरे का मुख्य कारण माना जा रहा है पर इस बारे में डॉ मोनिका कपूर का मानना कुछ और है। डॉ. मोनिका जो खुद कॉस्मेटिक सर्जन है उनका कहना है, "कॉस्मेटिक सर्जरी किसी के आकस्मिक निधन का इकलौता कारण नहीं हो सकता। हम इसके लिए चिकित्सा प्रक्रियाओं को दोषी नहीं ठहरा सकते हैं, परन्तु कॉस्मेटिक सर्जरी करवाने के पीछे की वजह जैसे निरंतर मानसिक और सामाजिक तनाव, अथवा उनके सर्वश्रेष्ठ देखने की एक हद को दोषी ठहराया जा सकता है। "  

आगे बताते हुए, उन्होंने कहा, "यदि कॉस्मेटिक सर्जरी ऐसी मौत के लिए जिम्मेदार होती, तो यह अतीत में बहुत समय पहले हो सकता था। श्रीदेवी इस तरह के सर्जरी अपने जीवन के पहले भी करवा चुकी थीं"।  

माइकल जैक्सन के उदाहरण का हवाला देते हुए, मोनिका ने समझाया, "एम.जे. जैसे प्रमुख व्यक्तियों ने विभिन्न कॉस्मेटिक प्रक्रियाओं और सर्जरी करवाई, लेकिन दुनिया में कहीं शल्य चिकित्सा समितियों / चिकित्सा समितियों ने इन सर्जरीओं को अचानक मौत का कारण नहीं बताया।" 

डॉ. मोनिका अन्य सर्जरी के बारे में भी बताते है जो हानिकारक नहीं हैं। उनका कहना है  "लोगों को कभी-कभी ट्यूमर हटाने या संपूर्ण इलाज के लिए कई सर्जरी की आवश्यकता होती है, लेकिन यह उनको नहीं मारता है। खुद की तस्वीर को सामाज में सही दिखने के लिए लगातार सामाजिक और मानसिक तनाव इस सर्जरी के पीछे मुख्य कारण है, इसलिए मेरा मानना है कि सर्जरी करवाने के पीछे कारण समाज या पारिवारिक दबाव, दर्जा और प्रोफ़ाइल बनाए रखना होता है। यही दबाव हमारे सबसे प्रतिष्ठित सितारों के दुखद निधन का उनका कारण बन जाते है।

DJ Hardik donates first earnings

Young DJ Hardik made his mark in the city’s party circuits recently when he played at a prominent suburban Mumbai nightplace and made his djing debut. Now, DJ Hardik is gearing up for his next gig with DJ Akhtar this September 15 at 1 Above in Lower Parel.In the meantime, the young man, did a laudable move recently. He donated his first earnings to Nargis Dutt Foundation to aid the needy. Says Priya Dutt, "in today’s time, very few kids think of others and want to give back to society. It is a great gesture. Thank you on behalf of Nargis Dutt Foundation. God bless you with success.”DJ Hardik on the other hand avers it is every person’s responsibility to give back. “What I did was what I should have done anyway. If each of us does his bit, the world would be a much better place.”
