मेलबर्न फिल्म फेस्टिवल में Rima Das की 'Bulbul Can Sing'

रीमा दास ने निर्देशक के रूप में विश्व स्तर पर अपनी सिनेमाई यात्रा में, कई सम्मान प्राप्त किये हैं और प्रशंसा अर्जित करते हुए अपनी प्रतिभा को साबित किया है। उनकी सबसे लोकप्रिय फिल्म, असमिया भाषा की विलेज रॉकस्टार्स ने २०१८ में सर्वश्रेष्ठ फीचर फिल्म का राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार जीता था और यह ऑस्कर में भारत की आधिकारिक प्रविष्टि के तौर पर भी गई थी। रीमा दास तब से भारतीय सिनेमा को नई ऊंचाइयों पर ले जाने और नए कारनामों को अंजाम देने में एक अग्रणी नाम बन गईं हैं।

अब उनकी नई फिल्म, बुलबुल कैन सिंग मेलबर्न के भारतीय फिल्म उत्सव २०१९ में ओपनिंग नाइट फिल्म के तौर पर दिखाई जाएगी। ऑस्ट्रेलिया के विक्टोरियन राज्य की सांस्कृतिक राजधानी में होने वाला वार्षिक उत्सव इस बार भारतीय सिनेमा को बढ़ावा देने की अपनी दशक भर पुरानी पहल का जश्न मनाएगा। नौ सफल संस्करणों के बाद इस बार यह अपने ओपनिंग नाइट ऊत्सव में दास की फिल्म का प्रदर्शन करेगा, जो तीन ऐसे किशोरों की कहानियों को प्रदर्शित करती है, जो ग्रामीण आदर्शों और नैतिकता के साथ जीते हुए अपनी सेक्सुअल आइडेंटिटी पाने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं।

रीमा की बुलबुल कैन सिंग ८ अगस्त को अपनी स्क्रीनिंग के साथ आधिकारिक रूप से उत्सव की शुरुआत करेगी।  त्योहार इस वर्ष साहस के केंद्रीय विषय के साथ अपने १० वें वर्ष का जश्न मनाएगा। यह ८ अगस्त को शुरू होकर और १७ अगस्त को समाप्त होगा।

जब रीमा से पूछा गया तो उन्होंने कहा, "मुझे किसी ओपनिंग नाइट उत्सव का उत्साह और जोश बहुत पसंद है। इसलिए मैं काफी उत्साहित हूं कि बुलबुल कैन सिंग भारतीय फिल्म महोत्सव मेलबर्न में ओपनिंग नाइट की फिल्म होगी। आयोजकों का विशेष धन्यवाद है। एक फिल्म मेकर के रूप में यह फिल्म वास्तव में मेरे लिए विशेष है। मैं फिल्म के ऑस्ट्रेलियाई प्रीमियर का और वहां के दर्शकों के साथ बातचीत करने और उनके साथ सिनेमा पर विमर्श करने का इंतजार कर रही हूं।"

10th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne के मुख्य अतिथि शाहरुख खान

ऑस्ट्रेलिया की विक्टोरियन सरकार द्वारा संचालित, मेलबर्न का भारतीय फिल्म महोत्सव 2019,  कल्चरल सिटी में 8 अगस्त से शुरू हो रहा है ।

भारतीय फिल्मों के वार्षिक उत्सव के मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में भारतीय अभिनेता और सुपरस्टार शाहरुख खान (Shahrukh Khan) अपनी उपस्थिति से फेस्टिवल का मान बढ़ाएंगे। 

पिछले 10 वर्षों में ये फेस्टिवल सीढ़ी दर सीढ़ी बढ़ते हुए पुर्णतः विकसित हो कर दक्षिणी गोलार्ध का सबसे बड़ा भारतीय फिल्म महोत्सव बन चुका है। इस वर्ष इस उत्सव की सेंट्रल थीम 'साहस’ निर्धारित की गई है, ऐसी खासियत जो भारतीय फिल्म व्यवसाय की समावेशिता और विविधता में कूट कूट कर बसी है। 

किंग खान जिन्हें वैश्विक स्तर पर काफी माना जाता है, वे अन्य अतिथियों के साथ 8 अगस्त, 2019 को आधिकारिक रूप से इस त्योहार की शुरुआत करेंगे और ‘प्रीमियर विक्टोरिया' और इस प्रतिष्ठित Festival के निदेशक मीतू भौमिक लांग (Meetu Bhaumik Lang) भी उनके साथ होंगे।

शाहरुख खान (Shahrukh Khan) ने कहा, "मैं मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में इस त्योहार की शुरुआत के लिए विक्टोरियन सरकार और मेलबर्न के भारतीय फिल्म महोत्सव से आमंत्रण पाकर काफी खुश और सम्मानित महसूस कर रहा हूं। हमारी इतनी बड़ी और विविधता वाली इंडस्ट्री का जश्न खूब जोश और उत्साह के साथ मनाए जाने योग्य है, और यही तो फेस्टिवल का मतलब है।  मैं इस साल इस उत्सव के विषय 'साहस' को लेकर विशेष रूप से खुश हूं. साहस एक ऐसी भावना है जो उन कहानीकारों के साथ प्रतिध्वनित होती है जो वास्तव में समाज और दुनिया को बदलने की क्षमता रखते हैं।  मेलबर्न में चक दे इंडिया की शूटिंग की बहुत अच्छी यादें अब तक मेरे दिल में बसी हैं और इस बार फिर से यहां भारतीय सिनेमा का जश्न मनाने के लिए मैं बहुत उत्सुक हूं।"

राजस्थान अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फिल्म फेस्टिवल में राखोश

भारत की पहली पी.ओ.वी फिल्म राखोश को राजस्थान अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फिल्म फेस्टिवल (रिफफ) में बेस्ट डायरेक्टर (जूरी) अवार्ड से नवाज़ा गया। राखोश एक ऐसी फिल्म जहां पर कैमरा ही हीरो है और सारे कलाकार कैमरा सी ही बातें करते हैं। राखोश की शूटिंग पूरी तरह से एक मेन्टल एसाइलम में सेट की गयी है।

मशहूर मराठी लेखक नारायण धड़प की कहानी 'पेशेंट नंबर 302' पर बनी सायकॉलॉजिकल थ्रिलर फ़िल्म 'राखोश' एक ऐसी फिल्म जहां पर कैमरा ही हीरो है और सारे कलाकार कैमरा सी ही बातें करते हैं। राखोश कीकहानी पूरी तरह से एक मेन्टल एसाइलम में सेट है। बताते चलें कि 2018 में धड़प की कहानी पर बनी थ्रिलर फ़िल्म 'तुम्बाड़' काफ़ी चर्चा में रही थी।

जयपुर में बुधवार को इस अवार्ड को लेने टीम रक्खोश - निर्माता सयाली देशपांडे, क्रिएटिव प्रोडूसर प्रशन क्यावल, राइटर और डायरेक्टर  श्री विनय सालियन, एक्ट्रेस सोनमणि जयंत मौजूद रहे। डायरेक्टर्स के बेहाल्फ़ पे प्रोडूसर देशपांडे ने अवार्ड को एक्सेप्ट किया।

“जब मैंने राखोश के कहानी सुनी तो मुझे पता था की इस फिल्म को मुझे ज़रूर प्रोडूसर करनी चाहिए.कहती हैं सयाली।

श्री विनय सालियन पहले सिर्फ फिल्म के लेखक ही थे। मगर फिर वह निर्देशक अभिजीत कोकाटे के साथ जुड़कर फिल्म का निर्देशन पूरा किया। सालियन ने नारायण धारप की कहानी पेशेंट नो ३०२ की कहानी का एक कथन सुना और उन्होंने इस फिल्म को लिखने का फैसला लिया. धारप वही लेखक हैं जिनकी कहानी पर फिल्म तुब्बाड़ भी बनी थी। "उन्होंने मुझे धारप की कहानी पढ़ने को भी कहा। मगर मैंने वह नहीं पढ़ी। मैंने जो कथन सुना उसी के आधार पर मैंने यह फिल्म लिख दी. अच्छी बात यह थी की उन्हें फिल्म बहुत पसंद आगयी," कहते हैं सालियन।

रक्खोश का निर्माण संतोष और सयाली देशपांडे ने किया. उनके लिए क्रिएटिव प्रोडूसर प्रशन क्यावल ने इसके निर्माण का जिम्मा संभाला। इस फिल्म में संजय मिश्रा, प्रियंका बोस, तन्निष्ठा चटर्जी और बरुन चंदा भी अहम् किरदान निभा रहे हैं। इस फिल्म के एडिटर अवार्ड विनिंग दिनेश पुजारी हैं।

इस फ़िल्म को पुणे अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फिल्म फेस्टिवल (पिफ) २०१९ में हाउसफुल रेस्पॉन्स मिला। नागपुर में होने वाले ओसिफ २०१९ अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फिल्म फेस्टिवल में १० फरवरी को राक्खोश दिखाई जाएगी।

VARTAK NAGAR opens Jharkhand International Film Festival

‘VARTAK NAGAR’ – a Hindi feature film produced by Amit Agarwal, under his banner Adarsh Telemedia, has been selected as the opening film at JIFF (Jharkhand International Film Festival), 2019. 

The film, directed by Atul Taishete, features Jimmy Sheirgil and Raghu Ram in pivotal roles. It is a story of four kids and their friendship against the backdrop of the Bombay Mills strike that took place in the 1980s. 

VARTAK NAGAR is ready for release and is on festival rounds at the moment. Already screened at CINEQUEST FILM FESTIVAL (San Jose, California, USA) and KOLKATA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (Kolkata, India) the film got selected as the Opening Film at JIFF – JHARKHAND INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (Ranchi, Jharkhand).

Amit Agarwal started Adarsh Telemedia in 2005 in Kolkata and from a film post-production studio in Kolkata, he ventured into film production. Beginning with Bengali Film ASTRA in 2012, Amit graduated to Bollywood when he initiated as producer the Hindi film M.S. DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY. Later he produced the film SIMRAN starring Kangana Ranaut which was released in 2017. 

He is also the Producer of Hindi Film RAAHGIR being directed by internationally acclaimed filmmaker GOUTAM GHOSE. RAAHGIR was entirely shot in Jharkhand (Ranchi surroundings and Netarhat). The film would travel to various film festivals across the globe and thereafter would have its theatrical release. 

Amit is also working as the Director of AJOOBA, an animation film in Hindi which has Gulshan Grover, Tisca Chopra and Mukesh Khanna as the lead voice cast. 

Amit Agarwal feels that Jharkhand has immense scope of development in this segment. It has very talented artistes and technicians who just need little motivation and support to showcase themselves. Amit also feels that Jharkhand has beautiful natural locations which are very rare and filmmakers around the world should be made aware of this. He is very thankful to Jharkhand Film Development Corporation for coming up with the idea of Subsidy Policy which according to him is one of the biggest opportunities for all genres of filmmakers. He is also very thankful to JIFF – Jharkhand International Film Festival for starting an event of such a scale, where filmmakers, both national and international are participating to screen their films.

3RD INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL & AWARDS.MACAO

The 3rd International Film Festival & Awards‧Macao (“IFFAM” or the “Film Festival”) will be staged from 8th to 14th December 2018, poised to uncover new dimensions and boundless potential of the cinema under the theme “A New Avenue to the World of Films” once again.

The IFFAM Organizing Committee unveiled the dazzling line up of over 50 films from China and the rest of the world alongside 14 local film works, followed by an introduction of the programme and announcement of the Talent Ambassadors, including winner of the Oscar for Best Actor and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor, Nicolas Cage, award-winning best actor in Asia, Aaron Kwok, and rising Korean star Lim Yoon A. Aaron Kwok marked his glamorous appearance at the press conference.

Director of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and President of the IFFAM Organizing Committee, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes; Artistic Director of IFFAM, Mike Goodridge; Executive Vice Presidents of the IFFAM Organizing Committee, namely President of Macau Films & Television Productions and Culture Association (MFTPA), Alvin Chau, and President of Cultural Affairs Bureau, Mok Ian Ian, were present at the occasion together with other guests. Senna Fernandes expressed, “We have poured exceedingly scrupulous efforts in the production of IFFAM as a young film festival. Opening our ears to opinions from different circles in the last two editions, we have flexibly adjusted our programme and meticulously selected a range of films, with the unyielding dedication to forge IFFAM into a prestigious brand in the international film industry as well as an East and West cultural exchange platform across borders and generations. This year, we feature ‘New Chinese Cinema’ as a new competition section to bring more Chinese-language films into the festival and enhance the lineup of outstanding films.”

Vartak Nagar at Kolkata International Film Festival

‘VARTAK NAGAR’ – a Hindi feature film produced by Amit Agarwal under his home banner Adarsh Telemedia was screened in the ongoing Kolkata International Film Festival to a tumultuous response. The film, directed by Atul Taishete, has Jimmy Sheirgil and Raghu Ram as its lead cast. It is a story of four kids and their bonding against the backdrop of a true event that of the Bombay Mills strike in the 1980s.  To celebrate the occasion, Agarwal also hosted a special lunch at Calcutta Club earlier where the official logo of the film was unveiled by internationally acclaimed film maker Goutam Ghose. 

Amit Agarwal piloted Adarsh Telemedia in 2003 in Kolkata and from a technical post –production house the creative Organization began venturing in film production. Beginning with Bengali Film ASTRA in 2012 Amit graduated to Bollywood with productions like M.S. DHONI...THE UNTOLD STORY, SIMRAN and VARTAK NAGAR. He is presently the Producer of Hindi Film ONE DAY IN THE RAINS (working title) being directed by Goutam Ghose which now is in the post production stage. Amit a well is working as the Director of AJOOBA, an animation film in Hindi.

Eros Now’s short film ‘A Monsoon Date’ at MAMI

‘A Monsoon Date’ presented by Eros Now, a premium over-the-top (OTT) by Eros International PLC premiered at JIO MAMI 20th Mumbai Film Festival with Star under the category ‘Anthology Of Shorts’.

The bittersweet short film captured the heart of the audiences and received very encouraging response.

Written by Gazal Dhaliwal, 'A Monsoon Date' is directed by Tanuja Chandra starring Konkona Sen Sharma and chronicles the story of a young woman who is about to reveal a heartbreaking truth about her past to the man she's dating.

The short film was followed by a interesting panel discussion on LGBTQ community hosted by Ritam Bhatnagar, Head of Indian Film Project with panelists Tanuja Chandra, Konkona Sen Sharma, Gazal Dhaliwal and Ridhima Lulla, Chief Content Officer, Eros Group.

'Chippa' at the 20th Mumbai Film Festival

Written and directed by Safdar Rahman the film features 10 year old Sunny Pawar as the main protagonist. His debut film “Lion” was nominated in 6 categories at the 89th Academy Awards in 2017 & has won him International accolades & awards.

The film has a supporting cast of Chandan Roy Sanyal, Masood Akhtar, Sumeet Thakur & Mala Mukherjee in pivotal roles & is produced by Ultra Media, Travelling Light & Victory Media.

After its debut in MAMI, Chippa will be screened within various International film festivals before its global, theatrical release in early 2019.

Mumbai, October 2018 : Chippa is a story about the aspirations of a child who lives on the streets, told through a journey he takes into an enchanting world that he creates himself on one wintry night in Kolkata. The film is an endearing & universal homage to the spirit and the timeless stories of children growing up everywhere.

Sunny Pawar played the child version of Dev Patel in the film “Lion”. “Lion” won Sunny Pawar nominations for the Critics Choice Awards in the “Best Young Performer” Category, “Best Actor” by AACTA Awards, “Special Mention Grand Jury Prize” at Asia Pacific Screen Awards and a nomination for the “Young Artist Award”.

Chippa is a heartwarming story of a boy, who on the eve of his tenth birthday receives a letter from his long-absent father. He then decides to leave his pavement abode to find out more. The film spans the length of the single night which tracks the fantastical & eventful journey which Chippa takes to discover the connections to his father.

The DOP of the film is Ramanuj Dutta and edited by Manas Mittal. The music is composed by Cyrille de Haes & sound designed by Sukanta Majumdar.

किसी एक्टर के साथ अमूमन ऐसा नहीं होता कि इतनी अलग अलग तरह की भूमिकाएं एक ही समय पर निभाने को मिलें। सामान्य प्रवृत्ति यही होती है की एक्टर्स ने पहले जैसी भूमिकाएं की है वैसी ही भूमिकाओं के लिए ही उन्हें दोबारा कास्ट किया जाए।

इतनी विविध भूमिकाओं को एक के बाद एक शूट करना मेरे लिए ट्रीट जैसा था। अब उन दोनों भूमिकाओं का प्रीमियर एक ही समय पर होना यह तो मेरे लिए डबल ट्रीट हो गई।"

मामी 2018 की शॉर्ट फिल्म सेक्शन की जूरी में यामी गौतम

यामी गौतम लगातार सफलता की सीढियां चढ़ती जा रही हैं। वे अपनी अब तक की सबसे प्रत्याशित फिल्मों में से एक ‘उरी’ का प्रचार जल्द ही शुरू करने वाली हैं ।

आज लन्दन फिल्म फेस्टिवल में अमयरा दस्तूर की राजमा चावल

आज, लंदन फिल्म फेस्टिवल २०१८ में,  ऋषि कपूर, अमायरा दस्तूर और अनिरुद्ध तंवर अभिनीत फिल्म राजमा चावल ब्रिटिश फिल्म इंस्टिट्यूट में दिखाई जा रही है।

ऋषि कपूर अपने कैंसर का इलाज़ कराने अमेरिका में हैं। वह इसी कारण से अपनी माँ कृष्णा राजकपूर के अंतिम संस्कार में नहीं शामिल हो सके थे। इसलिए, स्वाभाविक है कि वह इस मौके पर मौजूद नहीं होंगे।

लेकिन, इस मौके पर फिल्म की नायिका अमायरा दस्तूर लंदन में हैं।  वह, वहां अपने परिवार से मिलने गई हुई हैं।

अपनी फिल्म को लंदन फिल्म फेस्टिवल में दिखाए जाने से बेहद खुश अमायरा ने अपने सोशल अकाउंट में पोस्ट डाल कर अपने प्रशंसकों को यह खबर दी।  उन्होंने लिखा, "आज का दिन, हम सब दीवाने लोगों के लिए ख़ास हैं कि हम सब ने मिल कर एक खूबसूरत प्रेम कहानी को अंजाम तक पहुंचाया।  राजमा चावल हम सब के लिए सिर्फ एक फिल्म ही नहीं, यह हमारे प्यार की मेहनत और अनूठे अनुभव की दास्ताँ है।  मैं लीना यादव को, मुझ पर भरोसा करने के लिए धन्यवाद देना चाहती हूँ। राजमा चावल आज ब्रिटिश फिल्म इंस्टिट्यूट में दिखाई जा रही है।"

इस फिल्म राजमा चावल की कहानी पिता-बेटे के इर्दगिर्द घूमती हैं।  दोनों में काफी मतभेद हैं।  दोनों में कभी ठीक से नहीं बनी। लेकिन, एक बात, जो दोनों पास लाती है, वह है राजमा चावल का शौक।

अभिनेत्री अमायरा दस्तूर ने फिल्म राजमा चावल में ऋषि कपूर के बेटे की प्रेमिका की भूमिका की है। उसे जब दोनों  बाप-बेटे के सामान शौक का पता चलता है तो वह राजमा चावल के ज़रिये दोनों को मिलाने का फैसला करती है।

अपनी निर्देशक की तरह, राजमा चावल अमायरा दस्तूर की भी तीसरी हिंदी फिल्म है।  वह, इशाक, मिस्टर एक्स और कुंग फु योग मे अभिनय कर चुकी हैं।  उनकी, कंगना रनौत और राजकुमार राव के साथ फिल्म मेन्टल है क्या अगले साल रिलीज़ होगी।

Eros Now Original ‘SMOKE’ to be Premiered at Cannes

Eros International PLC (NYSE:EROS) (“Eros”), a leading global company in the Indian film entertainment industry, announced today that Eros Now, its cutting-edge digital over-the-top (OTT) South Asian entertainment platform will premiere its original series SMOKE at the coveted annual event MIPCOM 2018, being held at Cannes in France on October 15 under the Made in India Originals category. The only Indian web series to be showcased in Cannes this year, Smoke is a crime drama that will take audiences on a thrilling and eye-opening journey set in the underbelly of Goa.

The teaser of the show was launched today which stars an eclectic ensemble cast of Kalki Koechlin, Mandira Bedi, Jim Sarbh, Amit Sial, Gulshan Devaiah, Satyadeep Mishra, Neal Bhoopalam, Prakash Belawadi and the late Tom Alter. All episodes of Smoke will be available for binge-viewing from October 26, 2018 exclusively on Eros Now. The first look of the series will be premiered at MIPCOM with the audience combining the global entertainment fraternity including distributers, broadcasters as well as executives from the global entertainment industry.

This eleven-episode binge-worthy series, directed by Neel Guha is a game of smoke and mirror, shifting loyalties and brutal cover-ups all against the backdrop of Goa, a state as glamorous as it is unsuspecting of the menace that lurks underneath its surface. The sound track for the series has been composed by well-known musician Karsh Kale, who has redefined the Asian Underground genre of music. The show will be available for Streaming Globally on Eros Now starting October 26.

रानी मुख़र्जी की हिचकी कज़ाख़िस्तान में

टोरेट्ट सिंड्रोम यानि हिचकी की बीमारी से ग्रस्त लड़की के स्कूल टीचर बनने की कहानी पर, रानी मुख़र्जी की फिल्म हिचकी को न केवल बॉक्स ऑफिस पर सफलता मिली थी, बल्कि इस फिल्म को देश विदेश में फिल्म मेलों में सराहना भी मिली थी।

इस फिल्म की शंघाई इंटरनेशनल फिल्म फेस्टिवल और इंडियन फिल्म फेस्टिवल ऑफ़ मेलबॉर्न में दर्शकों द्वारा प्रंशसा हुई थी।

मेलबॉर्न मेले में रानी मुख़र्जी ने असाधारण अभिनय के लिए श्रेष्ठ अभिनेत्री का पुरस्कार भी जीता था।

रानी मुख़र्जी की प्रदीप सरकार निर्देशित फिल्म हिचकी को रूस में भी अच्छी सफलता मिली थी।

अब यह फिल्म कज़ाख़स्तान में रिलीज़ होने जा रही है।  चूंकि, कज़ाख जनता को हिंदी फिल्मों में रूचि है, इसलिए, हिचकी को कज़ाख़स्तान की आधिकारिक भाषा रशियन में डब कर रिलीज़ किया जाएगा।

कज़ाख़स्तान में हिचकी १५ स्क्रीन्स में रिलीज़ की जाएगी। २०१५ के बाद, सबसे ज़्यादा प्रिंट्स में रिलीज़ होने वाली फिल्म हिचकी ही है।

यह फिल्म अगले महीने २० सितम्बर को रिलीज़ होगी।

रानी मुख़र्जी कहती हैं, "यह फिल्म हमारी कमियों और उन पर विजय पाने की कहानी है। मुझे ख़ुशी है कि अब फ़िल्में अपनी यूनिवर्सल अपील के कारण भिन्न संस्कृति और भाषाओँ में रिलीज़ हो रही हैं।"

यहाँ याद दिलाते चलें कि हिचकी, अमेरिकी ड्रामा फिल्म फ्रंट ऑफ़ द क्लास की भारतीय और महिला संस्करण है।  फ्रंट ऑफ़ द क्लास मे, रानी मुख़र्जी की टीचर वाली भूमिका अभिनेता ट्रीट विलियम्स ने निभाई थी।

Bollywood biggies to attend Indian Film Festival of Melbourne

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne is all set to kick off its festivities this Friday, 10th of August. This year promises to be larger than ever with events, Q&A’s, Panels, a glorious Awards Night, an edgy Dance Competition and a Flag Hoisting that always ensures goosebumps with the biggest names doing the honours each year. The festival gives a chance for film lovers across Australia to learn, enjoy and critique the best films of 2017-18 and also a chance to meet their favourite actors/ directors/ writers personally.

The award winning largest film festival in the Southern Hemisphere begins the celebration of cinema with a star studded opening night where the Australian premiere of Tabrez Noorani’s Love Sonia will be screened on 10th of August . The Director Tabrez Noorani, actors Manoj Bajpayee, Frieda Pinto, Richa Chadha and Mrunal Thakur will also be present. Fans and supporters can watch Rani Mukerji hoist the Indian national flag at Melbourne’s iconic federation square on 11th August alongside the Mayor and High Commissioner of the city. After which they can groove to some Bollywood moves as Malaika Arora Khan, Nikhil Advani, Avtar Panesar judge the Bollywood Dance Competition. When asked The 11th of August is a full day of IFFM events with over 5 Panel discussions with India’s best and most experienced film talent who will be present to discuss their lives, struggles, anecdotes and successes. Everyone from Raj Kumar Hirani, one of India’s most loved directors to superstar Rani Mukerji, international faces like Ali Fazal and Freida Pinto and trade analyst Taran Adarsh will be present to talk cinema, cinema and more cinema.

12th August will see the most looked forward to event, the INDIAN FILM FESTIVAL of MELBOURNE AWARDS NIGHT. Everyone from Amitabh Bachchan to Rishi Kapoor have been part of this glamorous evening where Jury members like Sue Maslin, Simi Garewal and Nikhil Advani, who will be a Jury member for the first time, pick the most deserving winners in every category. When asked Nikhil Advani on his first time as a jury member he said, “From its very inception I have had a wonderful relationship with the festival. This is my third time here and It’s always a delight to be part of IFFM. To see Indian films being celebrated and being recognised majorly in the land down under for me as a filmmaker is very rewarding. And this time I’m ecstatic to be on the jury alongside some legendary names including the iconic Simi ma’am, and a talented bunch including the likes of Sue Maslin and Geoffrey Wright.” The iconic music duo, Sachin – Jigar will also be performing at the awards night.

Apart from the events, film lovers will definitely throng to see India’s best films being selected and screened across the city. One such film is block buster hit Sanju. Not only will audiences get a chance to see Sanju but can see ‘Kamli’ aka Vicky Kaushal up close as well. This is Vicky Kaushal’s first time at the festival and he will be present for the Q&A and Panel discussion with his director Rajkumar Hirani. The Sanju actor said, “It’s going to be my first time in Melbourne and I’m so happy that the reason for it is the prestigious IFFM. I’m looking forward to being there with the team of our special film ‘Sanju’. Can’t wait to interact with the cinema lovers in Melbourne.”

Saving the best for last, here are some films one will get to see at the festival, some of which are even having their Australian Premiere. Films like Nude, Jonaki, Bhasmasur, Teen aur Aadha, Village Rockstars, Sir, The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, and Cycle are all films that will be screened for the first time in the land down under. Other films like Gali Guliyan, Balekempa, Juze, Chumbak, Ascharya F**kit, Ralang Road, Thondimuthum Driksakshiyum, Bhayanakam are a few must watches.

IFFM for the first time also has a children’s section that will allow all age groups to enjoy and appreciate cinema from a young age. The festival is doing its best at promoting Indian cinema on a global stage and we hope it converts more and more cinema goers into Indian cinema lovers.

द इंडियन फिल्म फेस्टिवल ऑफ़ मेलबोर्न २०१८  इस शुक्रवार से शुरू हो रहा है।

इस फेस्टिवल में बॉलीवुड फिल्म अभिनेता मनोज बाजपेयी की दो फ़िल्में दिखाई जा रही है।

इस फेस्टिवल की शुरुआत, मनोज बाजपेयी की भूमिका वाली तबरेज़ नूरानी की फिल्म लव सोनिया से होगी। मनोज बाजपेयी की दूसरी फिल्म गली गुलियाँ होगी। इस फिल्म का निर्देशन दीपेश जैन ने किया है। गली गुलियाँ को मुंबई के फिल्म फेस्टिवल २०१७ में भी दिखाया जा चुका है।

लव सोनिया एक साइकोलॉजिकल थ्रिलर फिल्म है।  यह फिल्म एक अकेले पैरानॉयड व्यक्ति की कहानी है, जो अपने दिमाग  के जाल में फंस चुका है। वह इससे जितना निकलना चाहता है, फंसता चला जाता है।

मनोज बाजपेयी को इस फिल्म में अपनी भूमिका  के लिए बेस्ट एक्टर की श्रेणी में नामित भी किया गया है।

गली गुलियाँ को मेलबोर्न में इन द शैडोज टाइटल के साथ दिखाया जा रहा है।

मनोज बाजपेयी कहते हैं, "मैं खुश हूँ कि मैं जैसी फ़िल्में कर रहा हूँ, वह सभी अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फिल्म समारोहों में हलचल पैदा करती हैं।"

मेलबर्न में इण्डियन फिल्‍म फेस्टिवल में सिमी गरेवाल देंगी शशि कपूर को श्रद्धांजलि

स्‍वर्गीय अभिनेता शशि कपूर के भारतीय सिनेमा में अभूतपूर्व योगदान को स्‍मरण करते हुए इस वर्ष मेलबर्न में आयोजित होने वाले इण्डियन फिल्‍म फेस्टिवल में वर्ष 1972 की उनकी फिल्म सिद्धार्थ को स्‍क्रीन‍ किया जाएगा। यह फिल्म, कॉनराड रूक्स, जिन्‍होंने इस फिल्‍म को निर्देशित भी किया है, द्वारा लिखित इसी नाम की एक पुस्‍तक पर आधारित है, जिसमें सिद्धार्थ की यात्रा को दिखाया गया है जो एक सार्थक जीवन की खोज में लगा रहता है। फिल्म में शशि कपूर की सह-कलाकार रही सिमी गरेवाल स्‍वर्गीय अभिनेता को विशेष श्रद्धांजलि स्‍वरूप इस स्‍क्रीनिंग को होस्‍ट करेंगी, इसके पश्‍चात वह ऑस्ट्रेलिया और न्यूजीलैंड के विभिन्न भागों से आने वाले दर्शकों के साथ एक विशेष प्रश्नोत्तरी सत्र में भी भाग लेंगी।

इस प्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री और होस्‍ट ने कहा, "सिद्धार्थ हर नए दशक में एक नया जन्‍म ले रही है। हालांकि शशि ने इस्माइल मर्चेंट के साथ कई फिल्में की हैं, लेकिन पश्चिम में आज भी लोग उन्‍हें सिद्धार्थ के लिए ही याद करते हैं। हाल ही में मुझे लंदन में एक फेस्टिवल में यह फिल्म पेश करने और शशि को श्रद्धांजलि देने के लिए कहा गया था। मैं स्क्रीनिंग से पहले सिर्फ शशि के बारे में बात करती हूं,  मैं उनके बारे में जो कुछ जानती हूं और मेरी भावनाएं, मेरी फ्रैंडशिप और उनके साथ मेरा काम, सिर्फ उनसे इस बारे में ही बात करती हूं। मेरे प्‍यारे दोस्‍त के साथ बिताये खुशनुमा क्षण ही एक श्रद्धांजलि है।"  

फिल्म सिद्धार्थ की विशेष स्क्रीनिंग और सिमी गरेवाल द्वारा शशि कपूर को श्रद्धांजलि 13 अगस्त को आईएफएफएम, ऑस्ट्रेलिया में दी जाएगी।
