Artist Prakash Sonavane is one amazing dreamer who
sees Art in the mundane. Load-bearers, pedestrians, tiffin-bearers, street
vendors… the common man comes to life on his canvas!
The artist draws out
several nuances of the characters he portrays, pitting them against backdrops
that silently speak volumes. Sonavane’s paintings represent hardship, albeit
artistically so.
The inauguration of his Prakash Sonavane’s show, titled Dream
Weavers, saw actor and art enthusiast Pooja Bedi, ace music composer Raju
Singh, Rajiv Mishra – Director of Art, Sir JJ School of Art, artists Rajendra
Patil Para, Vipta Kapadia, Paramesh Paul, Amisha Mehta, Vishwa Sahni,
Madhusudan Kumar and others walk in to congratulate the young and talented
artist.
Prakash Sonavane’s exhibition
will be on at Gallery 1 of Jehangir
Art Gallery from 4th December to
10th December, daily 11 am
to 7 pm.
