Peace for Children - An Initiative by Smt. Latha Rajnikanth

With an aim to set the young minds free, physically and mentally; Smt. Latha Rajnikanth, Chairperson, Shree Dayaa Foundation and the wife of iconic South Superstar – Mr. Rajnikanth came forward to address a noble cause of child empowerment. She started ‘Peace for Children’, an initiative to awaken the sensitivity of the entire community to come together as a collective voice to uplift, improve, provide & protect the quality of the lives of children from across the world. The ultimate goal is to retain the smiles of the children, providing freedom from pain, agony, hurt and exploitation so that we retain their smiles and let them become what they can be. 

To spread a word about this noble cause, Shree Dayaa Foundation organized an event at Mumbai Cricket Association, Bandra Kurla, Mumbai on Thursday, i.e. 4th October 2018. It was a pleasant evening affair where Smt. Latha Rajnikanth introduced the program “Peace for Children” in the presence of prominent media personalities and close friends like Mrs. Nadhiya, Ms. Kavitha Khanna, Mrs. Smita Bharti, Mr. Sachin ,Mrs. Raj Deshchitha Mukth , Mrs. Kevin Shah and Mr. Sathish kumar Bagavanthrao Bhonsle. The event also witnessed the presence of Mr. Gaur Gopal Das and government dignitary Mr. DY Patil, former leader of Indian National Congress, Maharashtra amongst others.

The event began with a high-tea followed by lightning of lamp by Smt. Latha Rajnikanth which was further followed by cultural dance performances. To begin the event on a positive note and to seek the blessings of the lord, Smt. Latha Rajnikanth recited a prayer in her melodious voice. Going forward, she briefed the attendees about this initiative and the activities that will take place across the nation to promote the social cause and uplift the life of the young boys and girls.

Speaking about the initiative, Smt. Latha Rajnikanth, Chairperson, Shree Dayaa Foundation, said “I have created a very special initiative for children called ‘Peace for Children’ under my social care entity – Shree Dayaa Foundation. “ Adding to this she further said, “Children need voices to speak for them. They give us their complete trust, faith and surrender themselves in our hands. We will fail in our duty if we do not provide safety, security, protection, support, love and care along with compassion.” 

Peace for Children will be introducing sports, arts, cultural and educational programmes developed exclusively for children. To mark the creation of a national platform for the initiative, a concert will be held at Chennai in November. The concert which will bring people from all walks of life, will also have a Family Carnival, activity park, entertainment, games and cultural and educational programmes that restores the values of life and childhood. The Curtain Raiser event will be taking place in Chennai with esteemed guests and supporters followed by a conclave with prominent guest speakers coming together for a cause – ‘Peace for Children’.
